The Songspace to DISCO transfer guide

Lesson Summary

1. Creating Main Playlist Folder: Start by creating a main playlist folder in Songspace for your DISCO export. Create sub-playlists with about 250 tracks each for manageable downloads.
2. Organizing Recordings: Navigate to the recordings tab, select all recordings, and add them to the respective playlists. Repeat until all recordings are organized.
3. Downloading Playlists: Open the share link for each playlist, paste it into a browser, and select download all with the highest quality files option. Save these files in a dedicated folder.
4. Bulk Uploading to DISCO: Use DISCO’s bulk uploader app to upload the files from your dedicated folder. Monitor the upload process and address any issues by pausing and restarting if necessary.
5. Organizing in DISCO: Create playlists and channels in DISCO, similar to Songspace’s organization. Drag relevant playlists into the appropriate folders.
6. Editing Metadata: Check and edit metadata transferred from Songspace to DISCO. You can make batch edits to all tracks in a playlist.
7. Exporting CSVs from Songspace: Export metadata CSVs from Songspace and merge them into a Google Sheet.
8. Mapping Metadata: Obtain DISCO’s metadata CSV, map any additional data from Songspace to it, and request DISCO support to reimport the updated metadata.
9. Support and Resources: Contact DISCO support for any issues and utilize their training resources for further assistance.
