Internal View-Only Tag Settings

Certain tags are used internally and clients or anyone outside your business should not see them. The setting below ensures that selected track tag will never be written into metadata Comments, or visible to clients via DISCO Libraries.

To restrict tag visibility:

  • Open tag settings
  • Find tags that should remain private
  • Toggle the lock from green to grey

Write Track Tags to Comments Metadata

The following business setting enables track tags to be written as comma-separated text strings (Rock, Upbeat, Female vocal, Anthemic, etc.) in the Comments metadata field when playlists are downloaded or sent to other DISCOs.

  • Open Settings and Account from top right corner of DISCO:
Settings icon highlighted in explorer
  • Select Business Settings; only account Admins can edit these.
  • Tick the checkbox labeled “Write native tags to Comments metadata field on downloaded tracks.”
  • Click Update Business Settings.
  • Tags are be written to the Comments metadata field when tracks are downloaded or shared to other DISCOs.
  • Tags will get appended to any pre-existing text in the Comments field.
Takeaway: Track tags will NOT be visible in the Comments metadata field inside your own DISCO. Tags only appear in  recipients’ DISCOs and/or appended to downloaded files.
