Opt In to the Music Supervisor Discovery Browser

Discover Music area
  • With this setting, your DISCO Catalog becomes discoverable inside vetted Music Supervisors’ DISCO accounts.
  • Select the "Easy Access" option in the CMS Settings to automatically approve vetted Music Supervisors; this allows them to download or save to DISCO from your Catalog.
Music supervisors still have to contact you to license the music.

Link Link Link Your Catalog!

  • Link your Catalog out on your website.
  • One common method is linking through a “Search our Catalog” button.
  • Send direct invites to your close contacts from the Catalog CMS - this pre-authorizes them to access the Catalog.
  • Add the Catalog share link into your email signature.
  • Share the Catalog link in bulk email campaigns.
  • Add your Catalog link to your DISCO profile "contact details" so it will appear in shared playlist footers.

What Not To Do

Don’t blow the opportunity to make a good first impression by cutting corners and publishing a half-baked Catalog.

Here are a few examples of what to avoid:

  • Missing banner image or logo
  • Unrecognizable or irrelevant Catalog name
  • Messy, inconsistent metadata
  • Duplicate artist profiles (due to inconsistent artist metadata fields)

Presentation and metadata are critical! You are always being compared to every other professional and DISCO Catalog in the industry.

A note on sync opportunities

Having a DISCO Catalog does not guarantee sync placements.

Having a well-designed DISCO Catalog does, however, present your music in an easily searchable interface that increases the odds of it being discovered by Music Supervisors.

You will still need to do the legwork to establish relationships with Music Supervisors. This includes researching the films, TV shows, brands, and video games that license music similar to your own; it’s about sending the right music to the right people at the right time.

And if they like what you send, chances are they’ll check out your DISCO Catalog and discover even more of your material for sync opportunities!
