Adding a Contact

To add a contact, open the dropdown next to the “Add new contacts” button at the top right of the page, and select “Add a contact:”

Add a single contact button highlighted

This will generate a pop up where you can enter your contact's information, including their name, email, phone number, company location, and tags (useful for finding them later!):

Name and email must be filled out when adding a new contact (email is not required if the contact tag is Writer).

Importing Multiple Contacts via CSV

The Contact Database can be populated by uploading a .csv file.

If you already have contacts segmented or mailing lists in another system/spreadsheet, add the segment names for each contact in a “Tags” column.
  • Separate multiple tags with commas.
  • Later, you can create mailing lists in DISCO by filtering by your old segment names!
  • Alternatively, create a new mailing list for each segment - simply upload a CSV as a mailing list.
  • The Contact Database will automatically populate and you won’t have to re-create your mailing lists later.

Uploading a CSV

To upload a .csv, open the dropdown next to the “Add new contacts” button at the top right of the page, and select “Import contacts from spreadsheet:”

In the next screen, match the fields in your spreadsheet with columns that DISCO supports (name, email, phone number, company, territory, and tag).

DISCO will also attempt to do this automatically:

Once your contacts are imported, you'll get a “success” message, and will be able to click through to view all your contacts or add them to a mailing list.

Contact Tags

Contact tags are great for segmenting and searching the Contact Database. You can choose from the following pre-selected tags or create your own:

  • Label
  • Publisher
  • Supervisor
  • Writer
  • Other

If the Writer tag is selected, additional, related fields appear to add more context: publisher, related acts, and PRO (performing rights organization).

New contacts are automatically created whenever you email a playlist directly or assign a URL to a contact from the Playlist Share area.

The search bar at the top left of the Contacts table provides an easy way to find what you need:
