Breadcrumb Trail Overview
In this article, you'll learn about:
- Collaborating on team searches
- Uncovering existing playlists
- Saving time by reusing previous work
How Teams Collaborate on Searches
Before we look at the Breadcrumb Trail, there are a few important things to keep in mind when collaborating in the same DISCO.
- When searching collaboratively, all team members should still create and save their own, respective playlists.
- Once saved, these playlists will appear in Browse, creating a go-to database of best tracks to compile into final client lists.
Teammates should avoid editing the same playlists at the same time; updates made from individual workstations are not visible in real-time, and each saved session will overwrite previous work.
Uncover Existing Playlists
- Selecting an individual track opens up a column to the right displaying each previously made playlist containing the track.
- Browsing through these playlists tends to lead toward more tracks with overlapping qualities, because the playlists are curated around similar sounds and/or ideas.
- Viewing and reviewing track placements and search histories is possible by scrolling left and right with your mouse or toggling between the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard.
Add tracks directly to a playlist from the player menu (to the bottom left).
Save Time by Reusing Previous Work
Every time you or your teammates complete a search, it is saved for everyone else on the team to review.
- All search actions are recorded through the Breadcrumb Trail, so that a search that initially took an hour can later be recalled in instants.
- Capturing your team’s specialty knowledge as they build playlists saves efforts on future work because the Breadcrumb Trail helps steer relevant, related searches.
- Team members at any stage can begin a search from one track, artist, playlist, or tag, and quickly find related works for new or ongoing projects.
Wrap-Up
The Breadcrumb Trail is a powerful tool that allows teams to collaborate on searches in a streamlined and efficient manner. By exploring existing playlists and reusing previous work, teams can save valuable time while uncovering new and relevant ideas.
