Artist Page vs Album Page Templates
The setup for Album and Artist Pages is almost identical. The major difference is the addition of album art, title, and release date at the top of the Album Page design.
Edits to an Artist Page (hero image, bio, socials) will update that artist's profile in other places in DISCO (like DISCO Catalogs).
Updating an Album Page will not affect the artist profile anywhere else.
Read our DISCO Page EPK Guide for a great example use case for the DISCO Album page.
Create an Artist or Album Page
Select the relevant template on the Presentation tab as you save the playlist.
Link an Artist Profile
- Choose an artist from the dropdown list to pre-populate the hero image, social links, and bio.
- Artist profiles and their connected metadata are automatically generated from previously created artist profiles in your DISCO.
Album Art & Release Date (Album Page Only)
- Album art will automatically be pulled from tracks on the album, but can be overwritten
- Release Date
Add a Hero Image
- The hero image could be the artist photo or album artwork, depending on how you want to focus the presentation.
- The hero image is automatically pulled from the artist profile, but can be overwritten on each playlist by uploading a new image.
- Color themes can be adjusted to complement artwork, photos, etc.
Add the Artist Bio or Release info
There are dedicated fields to add artist bios, press releases, album stories, etc.
Add Social Links
- Add a link aggregator like Linktree
- Manually add individual social media links on the pop up.
Embed a Video
- Copy and paste Youtube or Vimeo videos URLs
Copy from the browser address bar - not the video “share” icon.
- Alternatively, you can upload the video file to DISCO and then find and select it from the dropdown.
Playlist Settings
- Manage additional info that can be included on your Page.
- Your Business Logo is pulled from your DISCO Settings Business Settings Tab:
- Hover over the Info icon to see a preview of your contact info:
- Contact information is pulled from your Profile and account settings:
Troubleshooting
- The Save button will not be clickable until an artist profile has been added to a Page.
- Double check any pre-filled images, bios, and social media links when you add an existing artist profile.
- If the video embed appears blank on the public view, check that you copied the video URL from the browser address bar and not the video share URL.
