Keeping Track of Each Version
Export new mix versions from your digital audio workstation (DAW) and import them into the Playlist Creator to include them in a new Project Playlist.
- You’ll continually update the same playlist over time with new versions.
- Update the metadata on the files with a clear version-naming convention
- Make use of the Artist and Album metadata fields, and add some placeholder artwork to make your tracks look visually appealing.
Add Sections for Each Song
- Include a dedicated playlist section for each song to ensure that all the various mix versions are organized in close proximity to one another.
- Share the playlist with your collaborators or clients and let them know each time you update it so they can refresh and listen.
Organizing Multiple Projects
- Create a Channel for all your production projects.
- Add folders for each artist, client, or project and save their playlists - with all the mix versions, etc. - into their respective folders.
- If there are multiple playlists to manage, share them in folders organized by client; otherwise, simply share the Project Playlist.
Receiving Updated Versions
Are you working with producers or mixers, etc. who aren’t using DISCO?
No worries! Simply copy your Inbox URL and ask them to upload the new versions to your DISCO Inbox Upload Page.
- Create the same Channel, folder, and/or playlist organization described in the previous sections.
- Update the track title metadata to make sure the version info is accurate.
- Edit the Project Playlist (so it appears in the Playlist Creator).
- Drag across the new mixes to their correct playlist sections.
- Save the updated playlist.
- Share the playlist or Channel folders with your team or collaborators, etc. so they can listen from any device while they are on the go.
